Certified Technician - 100 Treatment Practicum

Objective:

Students are offered the opportunity to complete their first 100 treatment sessions at the TLI facility. The student will perform 100 treated areas on four (4) different live models (one-hour treatment per model), under the direct supervision of a certified Laser Hair Removal Technician.

Upon successful completion of the 100 Treatment Practicum at TLI, the student becomes eligible to expedite their registration status to Registered Certified Laser Hair Removal Technician with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

The academy administration provides support and assistance to students with completing the online application process, in order to facilitate and expedite the issuance of the license.

Once the student submits payment for the required fees and completes all requirements set by TDLR, the application will proceed through the state’s standard processing procedures.

Enrollment for this course must be completed by phone with an administrative representative.

Main Skills to Be Learned:

1. Gaining an advanced and accelerated understanding of the application of light for the safe and effective removal of unwanted hair.

2. Practicing and mastering client consultation procedures.

3. Determining appropriate treatment plans based on client skin type.

4. Addressing pre- and post-treatment considerations.

5. Gaining additional insight into practice setting requirements and considerations.

Class Hours:

• Approximate total duration: 4–5 hours.

• Students must call to schedule their training day.

Admission Requirements:

1. The minimum age for admission is 18 years at the time of application.

2. Applicants must have obtained a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

3. Proficiency in English reading and writing is required.

Note: The course is also available in Arabic. Spanish-language courses are currently offered in person only.
